Job Overview:

eData is at the forefront of data-driven innovation in the insurance industry, generating vast amounts of underwriting and medical data to improve risk assessment, pricing, and claims management.

We are seeking a PhD-level Data Science Lead to head our Egyptian Data Science division, working closely with our Dubai-based team to develop advanced AI-powered analytics, industry benchmarks, and predictive models that optimize insurance operations.

Key Responsibilities:Data Science & AI Development:

• Lead the design and implementation of AI models that extract insights from insurance underwriting and medical data.
• Develop industry benchmarks using internal and external datasets to enhance decision-making in the Egyptian insurance market.
• Build predictive analytics models for risk assessment, fraud detection, and customer profiling.
• Apply machine learning (ML) and statistical techniques to refine pricing models and claim predictions.

Collaboration & Product Innovation:

• Work closely with eDatas Dubai-based Data Science and AI team to integrate best practices and advanced methodologies.
• Collaborate with insurance companies and regulatory bodies to enhance data-driven decision-making in the Egyptian market.
• Support the development of new data products and AI-driven insurance solutions tailored for the region.
• Identify opportunities for automation and AI integration to improve underwriting and claims processes.

Data Management & Benchmarking:

• Oversee the collection, structuring, and analysis of insurance-related data to maintain data integrity and consistency.
• Develop industry-wide performance metrics that provide insights into market trends, risk patterns, and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations in Egypt and the GCC.

Qualifications & Experience:

• PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience applying AI and machine learning in a commercial setting, preferably within the insurance, fintech, or healthcare industries.
• Strong expertise in Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI frameworks.
• Experience with big data technologies, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and data visualization tools.
• Deep understanding of insurance risk modeling, medical data analytics, and financial forecasting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work in a multi-country, collaborative environment.

Pay: E£50,000.00 - E£100,000.00 per month
