Software Engineer

We are a rapidly expanding company seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our engineering efforts. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and architecting the products, ensuring the scalability, maintainability, and efficiency of the codebase. You will also mentor junior developers and drive technical decisions that shape the future of our platform. This role is fully remote, but the candidate must be based in Egypt.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications built on Laravel and PHP.

Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices (e.g., SOLID principles, DRY).

Oversee database design, ensuring that it is optimized, scalable, and follows normalization and indexing best practices.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues, implementing solutions that are both efficient and scalable.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, and others) to deliver features in a timely manner.

Provide technical leadership by reviewing code, implementing best practices, and ensuring that the codebase is non-repetitive and follows clean architecture principles.

Lead the design and implementation of backend services and APIs, ensuring robust performance and security.

Ensure deployment pipelines are optimized, and applications are effectively hosted on Google Cloud.

Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their skills, particularly around clean coding practices, architecture, and database design.

Stay current with new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns, bringing innovative solutions to the team.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on PHP and Laravel.

Proficiency in Google Cloud services, deployment, and cloud-based architecture.

In-depth knowledge and experience in database design, including schema design, query optimization, and normalization.

Strong expertise in writing clean, reusable, and maintainable code while following SOLID, DRY, and other design principles.

Extensive experience designing and building scalable, secure web applications.

Expertise in version control systems like Git.

Proven experience in architectural design and decision-making for complex systems.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory:

Exceptional time management and organizational skills to succeed in a remote work environment.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Advantageous):

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Familiarity with microservices architecture or serverless computing.

Exposure to Agile methodologies and working in fast-paced environments.

Project management tools like JIRA, Twilio etc
