Design Planning Engineer

Job Summary:A Design Planning Engineer is a professional responsible for coordinating and overseeing the design and planning aspects of engineering projects. Their role involves a combination of technical, organizational, and planning skills. • Collaborate with design teams to create detailed plans for projects.
• Ensure the design plans meet regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and quality control measures.
• Review project specifications and make design improvements when necessary.
• Develop detailed schedules and timelines for the project, ensuring all phases are clearly defined.
• Anticipate project risks and proactively create mitigation strategies.
• Work with project managers to ensure that tasks and milestones are completed on time.
• Manage resource allocation to optimize the design process.
• Provide input for budget planning and cost estimation based on design specifications.
• Track design-related costs and adjust plans accordingly to stay within the project budget.
• Work with the procurement team to ensure that the necessary materials and tools are available.
• Troubleshoot issues in the design phase and during the implementation of plans.
• Provide technical solutions and adjustments to designs as required.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure that designs are feasible and efficient.
• Serve as the point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders during the design phase.
• Provide progress updates, reports, and presentations to senior management.
• Coordinate meetings between design and planning teams to discuss progress and challenges.
• Ensure that all designs and plans adhere to legal, environmental, and safety standards.
• Implement quality control processes to ensure the final design is robust, reliable, and meets industry standards.
• Conduct audits and reviews of designs and plans to ensure compliance with regulations.

Education & Experience:

• Education: A bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related fields).
• Experience: Several years of experience in engineering design, planning, or project management.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, etc.).
• Strong project management skills (knowledge of scheduling tools like MS Project, Primavera).
• Analytical skills to troubleshoot design issues.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and coordinating with teams.
• Understanding of cost management and budgeting.
