Maintenance Technician of Fully Automated Production Line in Ghent, Belgium

Expat Service Group is recruiting Maintenance Technicians for Volvo Cars Ghent in Belgium

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• You analyze and solve malfunctions (electrical, mechanical, PLC, frequency control, motors, pumps, engines etc.) on fully automated production installations.
• You optimize automated production plants in terms of production output, quality and technical reliability.
• You perform preventive and corrective/curative maintenance tasks. You take a number of installations out of service and check them in order to avoid failure.
• You identify, repair or replace defective systems or components (e.g. sensors, parts of the installation etc.) of industrial automated installations in accordance with regulations, machine specifications, documentation, etc.
• You will receive the necessary training and support and pass this on to your colleagues.
• You will be closely involved in the introduction of new installations, processes and new car models.
• You will work in a team with your fellow technicians.

Profile:

• You have a technical degree or equivalent by experience, preferably: A bachelors degree in Energy Technology, Electromechanics, etc. or secondary specialization year in Electrical Installation Techniques, Measurement and Control Techniques, etc.
• Being certified according to BA4 or BA5 would be a bonus.
• You have experience with automated production lines and PLC-controlled machines.
• You are passionate about automation, PLC and robotics (e.g. Siemens TiA, SattLine, Profinet, CamarC3G, ABB, IRC5 etc.).
• You follow up on the latest technological developments.
• You have a strong analytical and problem solving capacity.
• You take initiative and show the will to grow and expand your knowledge.
• You are flexible regarding your responsibilities.
• You are willing to work in a 2 shift system or the permanent night shift.
• You have good and clear English skills at B2-C1 level, this is the language you will communicate in.
• You have to be willing to learn Dutch over time. Volvo provides lessons.
